Let’s Take a Closer Look at the Ingredients

Galactoarabinan Polyglucuronic Acid Crosspolymer (2QR): It works by blocking the ability of microorganisms that cause infections from adhering to human tissue and colonizing it. In consequence bacteria and yeast cannot thrive and your vaginal yeast infection or bacterial vaginosis symptoms may ease. You can more information about studies that have been carried out so far here.

Xantham Gum: This natural emulsifier is generally considered safe.

Glycerin: I can’t say I like this ingredient. That glycerin used in vaginal hygiene products can increase the risk of developing yeast infections especially in women most susceptible to these infections. It’s because glycerin is a sugar alcohol and pathogenic yeast that cause infections, feed on sugar. That’s why you should avoid this ingredient if you suffer from recurrent yeast infections.

Caprylyl Glycol: Is may be plant-derived or synthetic, it’s used as a preservative due to its microbial properties. This component is considered safe.

What I Like About Multi-Gyn Actigel

  • It’s got a clinically tested complex called 2QR which makes it difficult for harmful microorganisms to colonize your vagina causing unpleasant symptoms.

What I don’t Like About Multi-Gyn Actigel

  • 28% of users were not happy with the results. Some say that their symptoms got much better after using Multi-Gyn, but they didn’t disappear completely and they had to do another treatment in order to clear their infection. Some women say that their symptoms got much worse after using Multi-Gyn.

  • It contains glycerin, which sometimes can make a yeast infection worse.

How to Use Multi-Gyn Actigel?

If you want to treat a vaginal infection, apply it in the vagina twice a day for 5 consecutive days.

If you want to prevent vaginal infections, insert the gel every 3 days before going to bed, and within 8 hours after unprotected sex or a swimming pool session to restore the correct acidity levels in your vagina.

You can also use Multi-Gyn if you experience vaginal discomforts, such as itching or irritation.

Side Effects?

Multi-Gyn can reduce the activity of sperm. So if you’re trying to conceive, don’t use this gel before and after a sexual intercourse.

Is There a Better Alternative?

My favorite product that treats both yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis is BoriCap. It contains 26 boric acid suppositories. Insert one in the morning and one in the afternoon for 7 consecutive days and see your symptoms disappear for good. Most women notice a great improvement just after 24 hours.

The great thing about BoriCap is that they do same day shipment if you order before 2 pm.

So if you can’t wait for the itching and burning to stop, you can be sure you’ll start your boric acid treatment as soon as possible. If you want to learn more about boric acid suppositories and studies that prove its efficacy, check my article about pros and cons of using boric acid.

Conclusion

If you’ve got a mild BV or yeast infection that’s just starting, Multi-Gyn Actigel may be just enough to contain it. However, if you’re infection is full blown, or you tend to suffer from recurrent infections then I recommend a more effective remedy: boric acid suppositories. The good thing is that it treats both infections very effectively. So even if you’re not sure if it’s a yeast infection or BV, BoriCap will treat both.
