Does Azo Yeast Plus Really Work For A Yeast Infection?
If you’re looking for a vaginal yeast infection treatment, you may have come across Azo Yeast Plus, a homeopathic ‘medicine’ that claims to relieve symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection.
In this article, I will tell you why Azo Yeast Plus infection doesn’t work and what are other, scientifically proven ways of curing a vaginal yeast infection.
Azo Yeast Plus is a ‘homeopathic medicine’, which means it’s not a medicine at all. Studies done on homeopathic products show that they work equally well as placebo. It means that when you take it you may feel some kind of improvement in your symptoms, but it’s only psychological. Placebo doesn’t cure anything.
Homeopathic products don’t contain any medications or sufficient amounts of any compounds that could benefit your health, so it’s a waste of time and money.
Let’s Look at the Ingredient List:
- Candida Albicans 30X: I can’t believe it’s on the ingredient list. This is the very yeast strain that causes your yeast infection. You need to use antifungal medications to kill as many Candida cells as possible in order to recover. How ingesting more Candida albicans could help? The good thing is that Candida albicans cells in Azo Yeast Plus are diluted with water in the ration 1:10, 30 times! It means that the pill you take will probably not contain any Candida cells at all. How confusing…
- Kreosotrum 30X: There’s absolutely no mention of any studies done on kreosotrum and it’s effectiveness against vaginal candidiasis. It’s made from distilled beechwood tar and it’s a compound used in homeopathy to treat an array of health ailments. No reputable scientific sources mention kreosotrum as an effective remedy against anything. There’s also no information about kreosotrum on The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) website.
- Natrium Muriaticum 12X: This is a homeopathic term for common table salt. Once again homeopaths ascribe an array of health benefits to Natrum Muriaticum, while science says that salt should be avoided as it does nothing good for our health. As you can imagine, there’s no mention of salt having fungicidal properties in any scientific sources I checked.
- Sulphur 12X: Although sulfur is successfully used to kill fungus on plants, there’s no evidence that suggests it’s effective against Candida albicans in animals or humans. There’s a lot of confusion about using sulfur for Candida on Candida related forums, some even claim that some of its compounds feed Candida. On top of that, you have to know that all ingredients in Azo Yeast Plus are diluted to a point that they will hardly be detected in the pill!
Will I Feel any Better After Taking Azo Yeast Plus?
As the ingredients in Azo Yeast Plus are very diluted, it’s like taking a sugar pill. It won’t have any effect on your health, but it may have a placebo effect. It means that as long as you’re convinced you’re taking medicine that’s going to relieve your symptoms, you may experience some relief.
But it’s only psychological, your yeast infection won’t be treated, so why waste your money?
What can I use Instead of Azo?
The most effective over the counter treatments consist of vaginal suppositories. If you prefer a 100% natural treatment, try boric acid suppositories.
Boric acid is a well documented, naturally occurring compound that’s highly effective against different strains of Candida (Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, Candida tropicalis) and bacteria that cause bacterial vaginosis (BV) and trichomoniasis.
My favorite boric acid suppositories are called BoriCap. If you order on Amazon before 2 pm, it’ll be shipped to you on the same day! Once you receive your suppositories, insert one in the morning and one in the evening for 7 consecutive days.
You’ll notice a huge relief within a few days. If you tend to suffer from recurring yeast infections, keep inserting one suppository a week for up to six months after you finish your treatment to prevent a yeast infection from coming back.
It’s a great product with excellent reviews, and it’s considered a very safe option as it rarely gives any side effects.

Conclusion
If you want to get rid of a yeast infection fast, I don’t recommend Azo Yeast Plus. It will not have any effect on your symptoms as none of the ingredients are scientifically proved to work for Candida. And even if they were, they’re diluted to a point that they may not even be detected in the actual pills.
If you prefer a totally effective treatment that is 100% natural:

I had a yeast infection. I took one pill for a week 3 times a day as directed. Slow results but was working. I started taking two pills 3 times a day for several more days. My infection is gone. So yes it does work.
